A Newness of Life

I looked out my kitchen window and what did I see? Popcorn popping on my apricot tree! Spring is here! I love spring!
My bulbs are up and I have two daffodils open and other flowers soon to follow. I love the newness of life and all that it symbolizes to me.
I am in awe of the Lord's magnificent creations.

Psalms 8:3-9

3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Late but finally here

I am thankful for the Lord's patience with me. When I feel prompted to do something it seems to take forever before I finally do it. I have felt for awhile (since summer!) that I needed to do a blog like this.
I look at the title of this entry and hope that does not mean my entrance to heaven! Well, at least if I get there... but I don't want to be late! (I'm not usually late getting to places - just doing things!)
Anyway, as I was finally seriously contemplating this blog I wanted a catchy name. I like catchy names and phrases. I started looking through Psalms for something. I decided on "Praise ye the Lord". It wasn't catchy or clever but it is how I want my heart to be -always singing His praises.
But, that blog title was taken so I had been thinking about using something to do with "whispers" and decided I would combine the two.
I will try to post once or twice a week and just share something I have felt or learned and I always want to give the Lord all the praise I can. He is the source of all the good in my life.
I will also share some favorite scriptures. I thought I would start out in Psalms because it is full of verses that say what is in my heart.

Psalm 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

I am still working to achieve this. Wouldn't it be wonerful if we pushed all the sordid details of the world out of our minds and just meditated on the Lord's law day and night? Whenever I hear the phrase "always remember Him" I wonder how I can do better in this. I do ask what He would do or have me do in certain situations but I know He is not in my mind every single minute or I would be a much better person.

Something to pursue...

Sorry, I will try to keep future posts a bit shorter!
